The Colorado Multiple Institutional Review Board (COMIRB) exists to review all proposed human research projects prior to implementation in the affiliated institutions and/or research conducted by faculty or staff members of these institutions, even if it is performed at other locations. Review is performed in accordance with mandated Federal regulations. The main responsibilities of COMIRB in the order of priority are: 1) protect human subjects and their rights, 2) protect researchers, and 3) protect the institution.
COMIRB offers education, assistance and training for new researchers and can facilitate an awareness and understanding of policies and procedures.
Visit the COMIRB site to learn what it takes and the procedures to participate in research, locate the appropriate COMIRB forms to complete your paper or electronic submission, and view the current and previous copies of COMIRB panel member rosters.
